Montevideo Gay Bars

Chains is the best and most popular gay bar in Montevideo and it's perfectly situated in the centre of town.

Many locals and tourists will visit Chains on the weekend in the early evening for a few drinks before a big night out at Il Tempo.

There's a minimum charge of $250 (Uruguayan pesos), which is the equivalent to about 1 or 2 drinks. The crowd varies from night to night but is an often an older crowd during the week - the younger gay community tends to frequent here at the weekends.
