New York City Lesbian Bars

Henrietta Hudson is one of the most famed lesbian bars in New York, having served the West Village for over 30 years. It's firmly established as a community space and it's one of the most important lesbian bars in America, although it now bills itself as a "Queer Human Bar."

Known as a Brooklyn landmark in its own right, Ginger's Bar welcomes a diverse clientele but mostly caters to Brooklyn's lesbian scene in Park Slope. It's Irish and lesbian-owned - you'll find it in the heart of Brooklyn's LGBTQ area. Drink and celebrate in a neighborhood bar inspired by the homeliness of their hometown - port Wexford, Ireland.

Oddly Enough is a lesbian-owned "queer space for all" in Bed Stuy, attracting mostly queer women. It's a small but tasteful bar, serving craft cocktails, mocktails, and small plates. Oddly Enough also donates to LGBTQ+ charities and partners with queer-owned businesses for events.

The Bush is Bushwick's only lesbian bar founded by two local lesbian bar enthusiasts. The bar calls itself "A Dyke Bar for Queers" and serves delicious cocktails. They also host regular events, including Poly Mixers and Queer Speed Dating.

Dave's Lesbian Bar has been hosting monthly, block party-style pop-ups with different themes in support of raising mutual aid funds. According to Dave's, they are "a mutual aid center by day and a live music venue + bar by night."

The proceeds of their events and GoFundMe campaigns also go toward opening a permanent space in Astoria so queers in Queens can have a lesbian bar and a safe space for community gatherings.

Maite is a lesbian-owned bar and restaurant in Bushwick, hosting queer brunch parties, lesbian dance parties, and more.

They serve Colombian, European, and American cuisine along with a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Maite's atmosphere is inherently queer, with sapphic artwork and queer posters lining the interiors. It's a warm, inclusive space for everyone, especially queer folks in Bushwick.
