Manuel Antonio Gay Beaches

Playa Espadilla is the main beach at the end of the main road through Manuel Antonio, and the most popular with tourists.

The western edge is bordered by the Manuel Antonio National Park, making that end a gorgeous spot.

However the majority of gay tourists gather at the opposite end, in front of the surfing area. This beach can get very busy on weekends and holidays and there are often a few peddlers to sell you drinks and snacks, but make sure to bring supplies as well.

Every Sunday at 10 AM, there are LGBTQ flags on the beach.

Playa Playitas is a gay beach in the Manuel Antonio region.

This beach is just around the cove from Playa Espidalla, the main beach at the end of Calles Principal. At the western side, go around the cove at low tide and you'll find Playa Playitas.

Playitas is a gay hotspot and regular hangout, as it is slightly more secluded than the Playa Espidalla. Gay tourists tend to gather at the far end.

This beach used to be clothing optional, but the recent construction has changed this to Playa La Macha, see our page for more info.
