Shopping queens take note! The Mercure Bangkok is right near MBK Center, the main shopping area and the Siam skytrain station. Trains go directly to the Silom gay district (just two stops).
The Mercure offers large, stylish rooms with flat screen satellite TV, minibar, coffee maker, free WiFi. There are 3 bars, 2 restaurants, outdoor pool and a gym, though we think the Olympic Club @ Pathumwan Princess would have more eye candies.
If the location is right but the price isn't, then consider the ibis Bangkok Siam Hotel which shares the same building.
