The Capella is about as far away, in architectural terms, as you can get from the high-rise norms of Singapore. This gorgeous resort is a fusion of colonial and cool contemporary-styled buildings set in surprisingly mature tropical gardens.
Located close to Universal Studios and just a short walk from the gay-popular Tanjong Beach and Tanjong Beach Club, the hotel offers luxurious rooms, suites and villas - some with fabulous views of the South China Sea. Each room has free WiFi, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine and super-sized LCD TV.
The first-class service matches the quality of the hotel. Location-wise, it takes about 15 minutes by taxi to reach the gay scene in and around Chinatown, or Orchard Road for shopping.
