Springfield PrideFest 2026: dates, parade, events

Springfield PrideFest takes over downtown Springfield, Illinois, on May 16, 2026 as it celebrates its 15th year! Launched in 2011 by the Phoenix Center, the event has grown into one of Central Illinois’ biggest festivals.

What happens at Springfield PrideFest?

The day kicks off with a parade at 11:30 a.m., starting at 5th & Allen and heading north to the main festival site at 5th & Capitol. A ribbon-cutting ceremony follows at noon, officially opening the festivities.

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy live entertainment from 12:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., featuring a mix of music, drag, and performances suitable for all ages. The festival includes a kids’ area, a wide range of vendors, delicious food and drink options, and spaces for community organizations.

While the event is free to attend, wristbands are required for alcohol purchases (available for $5 with a valid photo ID). Street parking and a parking ramp at 6th & Capitol are available for visitors.

Springfield PrideFest promotes diversity and inclusion in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Coolers and outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted, and shirts and shoes are required.
