Few events in the world match Madrid Pride for scale, energy or cultural significance. Running from the 25th of June to the 5th of July 2026, MADO Madrid Pride Week is ten days of celebration, advocacy and performance that transforms the Spanish capital into the LGBTQ+ center of the world, drawing millions of visitors from across Europe and beyond.
The Neighborhood That Started It All
Chueca is Madrid's historic gay neighborhood and the spiritual home of Spanish Pride, and it comes alive from the moment Pride Week begins. Neighborhood Pride runs from the 25th of June with a week of parties, street activities, cultural events and bar programming that fills the barrio's plazas and venues and sets the tone for everything that follows.
The Stages and the Programme
Across the week, multiple outdoor stages take over some of Madrid's most iconic public spaces, with performances, DJs, drag acts and live entertainment running daily at Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol, Plaza de las Reinas and Plaza Pedro Zerolo.
Beyond the stages, the programme includes the Madrid Summit, a major forum on LGBTQ+ rights and politics, inclusive sports events, a full cultural agenda spanning film, theatre and art, and official partnerships with institutions including the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum.
The State Demonstration
The centerpiece of the entire week is the State Demonstration on Saturday the 4th of July, the largest LGBTQ+ march in Europe and one of the largest in the world. Hundreds of thousands of people take to the streets of Madrid in what is as much a political act as it is a celebration, with trans rights placed firmly at the heart of this year's messaging.
Madrid as a Destination
Madrid is one of Europe's most LGBTQ+ friendly cities year-round, with Chueca offering one of the continent's most established and welcoming gay scenes. The city's food, nightlife, art and architecture make it an exceptional destination at any time of year, and Pride Week is the moment when all of that comes together at its most vivid.
Hotels across the city fill up well in advance for Pride, particularly those closest to Chueca and the main demonstration route.
