Auckland Pride Festival 2026: dates, parade, events

The Auckland Pride Festival is a month-long open-access arts, cultural, and community Festival. It’s comprised of major events delivered by Auckland Pride, such as the groundbreaking Te Tīmatanga,  the powerful Pride March, and the sensational Pride Party, and a diverse variety of events produced by artists, community organisers, and organisations.

Exciting Events at Auckland Pride

Te Timatanga - Opening Event

Auckland Pride Festival officially starts on February 1st with an opening ceremony at the Seasons Gallery Hotel. The theme is Tētahi Ki Tētahi – We Exist Because We Relate, which will be discussed by artists Louie Zalk-Neal and Neke Moa.

Big Gay Out

This free event, presented by The Burnett Foundation, is the biggest and gayest event of the year in Aotearoa! Happening on February 16th at Coyle Park, expect music, markets, and live performances.

Waimahara - Closing Event

Auckland Pride Festival closes with Waimahara at Myers Park. This Pride March begins from Aotea Square Grass Terraces towards Myers Park. The rally will march through public art installations with the goal of fostering learning and connection.

Theater Performances

You can catch several live performances at Q Theatre Loft throughout Auckland Pride celebrations, including the rock musical What Happened to Mary-Anne?, performance art Body Story by Xin Ji, and performance poetry Mā.
