Raleigh has a big academic scene, centred around North Carolina State University and the Research Triangle Park. The population is around 47, and growing. Raleigh is attracting more and more millennials. The cost of living is relatively affordable. The growing youth population has given Raleigh's nighttime economy a boost.

You'll find a few decent gay bars and clubs in Raleigh. It's known as the "City of Oaks" due to its abundant oak trees.
